All Day Guided Mushroom Hunting Tours

All Day Guided Tours are available on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday during the Fungi Festival weekend.

11th Annual Fungi Festival will be held from Friday, September 23, 2016 until Sunday, September 25, 2016.

Tour leaves at 10am, scheduled to return by 4pm.

$75 each person.  Please contact us and pre-register for this event.

Meet at the Red Barn Arts Centre in Sicamous by 9:30am for introductions, coffee, briefings, round-up, and to finish the registration process.
Participants should be prepared with their own transportation though car-pooling arrangements are part of the morning briefings and round-up.

*If you would like to attend that day's tour but have not yet registered please arrive at the Red Barn at or just after 9am, giving the Fungi Festival enough time to get you registered, ensure all information is listed for our Guides, and pack enough food for lunches.
Also, we cannot guarantee there will be room on the tour.  Friday and Saturday tours often fill up the fastest.

Expert Mushroom Guides will lead each tour offering education, advice, identification, and answering questions.

You will be able to hunt your own wild mushrooms and have them identified.

Lunch is included.  Sandwiches, bottled water, and snack foods like hard boiled eggs and fresh fruit.
*Please let the Fungi Festival know if you have any dietary concerns (ie, you are a vegetarian or have food allergies) in advance, and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Don't forget to wear good shoes, bring a whistle (for forest communication), to bring a basket or paper bag for collecting, and a mushroom knife and brush , if you like (a plastic disposable knife will do, and you won't be heart-broken to lose it.  And a toothbrush works well to remove dirt and debris).

  • Choose your level of difficulty:
    • RED – for the most fit participants.
    • BLUE – a medium level of difficulty.
    • YELLOW – those interested in an easy-going, non-strenuous tour.
  • When registering for an All Day Tour we will ask you to choose the level of hiking difficulty you would consider yourself, or your group, to be comfortable with.  This information helps organizers to arrange enough guides to accommodate all levels of difficulty.
