Thurs Sept 16th we will have our regular icebreaker at Joe Schmucks from 5pm on while our experts arrive. There will be mushroom themed meals, free mushroom appies and a campfire and music on the deck.
Friday Sept 17, Saturday Sept 18 and Sunday Sept 19 there will be daily long walks, foraging for mushrooms in the area around Sicamous as well as short identification walks with Paul in Sicamous. Long walks require advance registration.
Friday long walk meets at 9:30 and departs at 10. You are welcome to come by with your specimens and talk to Paul until 1pm. Mushroom soup will be served by donation during the day and in the evening there will be a mushroom themed pasta dinner by Dave Crowfoot. 5pm Paul will do his introductory presentation “A World of Wonder Beneath Your Feet” and at 6pm our experts will be available for a Q&A panel to answer any questions you might have regarding edibles or other topics of interest. As well there will be a market in the legion parking lot with entertainment by Bryan Wiznuk.
Saturday long walk meets at 9:30 and departs at 10. Paul will man the displays and answering questions until 1. Mushroom soup and perogies with mushrooms or perogies with sausage will be served by donation. 5pm we will have a Q&A panel review of the specimens collected that day along with any other topics of interest from the audience, followed by Paul’s popular Magic Mushroom Presentation. There will be a market and plant exchange throughout the day with entertainment by the Guy Johnson Band followed by Bryan Wiznuk
Sunday we get started at 9:30am with an open panel discussion on the specimens collected over the weekend, edibles and other topics of interest. Dave Crowfoot will be preparing some yummy wild mushroom scrambled eggs. The long walk will depart by 11 and Paul will be available to answer questions until 1pm. We will have mushroom soup by donation and perogies and mushroom or perogies and sausage by donation. There will be entertainment by the Guy Johnson Band and a market and plant exchange throughout the day.
We also hope to have some displays set up outside under tents for those just passing by.
